White to Host Community Forums on Opioid Addiction

March 19, 2018

PHILADELPHIA — Rep. Martina White (R-Philadelphia) will hold two community meetings to help prevent and fight opioid addiction. The meetings will focus on education, prevention, intervention, and treatment in order to give families the tools necessary to help loved ones affected by the epidemic.

“To tackle the growing epidemic of opioid addiction we need a better understanding of how drug abuse begins, how to fight it through education, and where families can find help for those needing recovery,” White said. “My focus is to help families identify warning signs before it becomes overwhelming. I want to connect people with the resources available for solving this problem.”

The first meeting will be on Thursday, March 22, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at KleinLife, 10100 Jamison Road in Philadelphia, 19116. The second meeting will be on Thursday, April 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Archbishop Ryan High School, 11201 Academy Road in Philadelphia, 19154.

Residents should call White’s district office at 215-330-3711 with any questions.
