Fire, EMS Grants Awarded to Support First Responders, White Says

February 12, 2026

PHILADELPHIA – A pair of grants awarded this week in Philadelphia will support fire companies and emergency medical services as they address building projects, purchase or repair equipment, conduct training, or reduce existing debt, according to Rep. Martina White (R-Philadelphia).

Established by the Legislature, the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner. All funding comes from the proceeds generated by slot machine gaming.
The grants included $16,136 for Philadelphia Fire Department and $15,000 for Northeast First Aid Corps, commonly known as Northeast Community Ambulance.

“All of us in Northeast Philadelphia are incredibly grateful for the tireless work of our first responders who answer the call 24/7. They are true heroes,” White said. “These grants will assist them in tackling needed projects.”
