White Elected House Republican Caucus Secretary

HARRISBURG – During leadership elections in the Pennsylvania state House today, members of the House Republican Caucus elected Rep. Martina White (R-Philadelphia) to serve in the position of secretary. On Nov. 3, White was reelected to serve her third full term in the House.
“I am honored to have been chosen to serve in this position and to represent the people of southeast Pennsylvania during leadership discussions,” said White. “I look forward to the additional responsibilities I will be assuming, while continuing to diligently work for the people of the 170th Legislative District.”
The position of secretary is responsible for recording all official legislative activities that take place in the House of Representatives.
In addition to White’s election, lawmakers also nominated current Speaker of the House Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) to continue his service in that role next session. Reelected to their posts were Reps. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) as majority leader, Stan Saylor (R-York) as appropriations committee chairman, Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong/Forest) as majority whip, Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) as policy committee chairman and Kurt Masser (R-Northumberland/Columbia/Montour) as caucus administrator. Rep. Mike Reese (R-Westmoreland/Somerset), who currently serves as caucus secretary, has been elected to serve as caucus chairman.
